At Tennessee Avenue Christian Academy, we believe that all students are unique individuals who need a secure and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, and socially.  It is the goal of TACA faculty and staff members to help students meet their fullest potential by providing a learning environment that adheres to this premise while fostering a love and respect for themselves, others, our Lord, Jesus Christ, and the Word of God.

TACA has the vision and responsibility to participate in a child’s total educational experience whose primary focus is a Christ-centered approach to learning through a Biblically-integrated curriculum and an endeavor toward academic excellence, to be enriched by athletics, fine arts, technology, service to others, including community outreach ministry opportunities, and most importantly, growing in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. These are the guiding foundations of the educational experience at TACA.  The result is to prepare a young person to assume their role in the body of Christ, the church, and society. 

Dual Enrollment

Tennessee Avenue Christian Academy participates in dual enrollment classes with King University, Bryan College and Northeast State Community College, where our students can receive both high school and college credit for qualifying coursework.  Also, students who are Tennessee residents can qualify for dual enrollment grant funds, which help pay the cost of the college classes.

 We also participate in Tennessee Promise, with an on-site mentor. We offer ACT prep classes for our juniors and seniors.

We are proud to say that our graduates move on to the colleges of their choice and become successful members of the workforce.  TACA  graduates have attended the following colleges & universities: 

University of Tennessee, Welch College, King University, Carson Newman University, Lee University, Virginia Highlands Community College, Northeast State Community College, Longwood University, East Tennessee State University, University of Virginia’s College at Wise, Alice Lloyd College, Emory & Henry College

Affiliations

Tennessee Avenue Christian Academy is a member of the Tennessee Association of Christian Schools and meets or exceeds the requirements necessary to be named a School of Excellence.

The Tennessee Association of Christian Schools (TACS) was formed to provide an organization whereby Christian schools in Tennessee could obtain Christian guidance and educational services which would enhance the academic and spiritual credibility of member schools. A further purpose was to provide an opportunity for Christian schools, who subscribe to TACS’s Statement of Faith, to maintain high standards of spiritual and academic excellence. 

Since the primary purpose of a Christian school is academic excellence and conforming young lives to the image of the Lord Jesus Christ, TACS was organized accordingly and is committed to complementing the educational and spiritual goals ordained by each school through professional services.
